Today I'm bringing you these INCREDIBLY delicious brussels sprouts. I know these are a very controversial veggie, but they are so good when cooked the right way. The method I used for these is a little involved and time-consuming, but sooo worth it. You could even make extra and keep them in the fridge or freezer to use multiple days.

I randomly crave brussels sprouts for some reason, and made these on a day when I just really wanted some. They came out absolutely amazing and I think you should all give these a try, regardless of whether you think you like brussels sprouts or not!

Brussels Sprouts Recipe

Serves 4

Ingredients:

- about 20 brussels sprouts

- 3 medium garlic cloves, cut in half

- 1-2 tbsp cooking oil

- salt, to taste

- pepper, to taste

- 1-2 tsp lemon juice

- drizzle of balsamic glaze (optional)

Steps:

1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F and prepare a baking sheet with a silicon liner or parchment paper.

2. Heat a large skillet with oil on the stove to medium heat.

3. Add brussels sprouts and garlic and stir to get it all coated in the oil.

4. Saute for about 10 minutes, stirring often.

5. Add about 2 tbsp of water, then continue adding water a little bit at a time when the pan gets dry, and repeat this for about 8 more minutes, continuing to stir.

6. Once the brussels sprouts are softened, add salt and pepper to taste.

7. Transfer the sprouts and garlic to the baking sheet and spread out.

8. Put the pan into the oven and check every 5 minutes until they are done to your liking (I like them super burnt but you can decide!).

9. Transfer to a bowl and add in lemon juice and balsamic glaze (optional).

*Tip: The balsamic glaze isn't necessary, but it brings out the flavors and makes it extra yummy!!

@elena burge, yes you can use any cooking oil! Balsamic glaze is just balsamic vinegar that is reduced to become much thicker, but you can buy it already made at the store!
