Chocolate Tahini Cups

You've heard of chocolate peanut butter cups, now get ready for... Chocolate Tahini Cups! I used to make homemade peanut butter cups all of the time, so I decided to use the same method but with tahini for a nice change! This is great for anybody with nut allergies or just for somebody who loves tahini!

I made these and they were absolutely delicious! My mom tried one as well and she loved them, even though she wasn't sure if she would like tahini. They have such a unique taste, and the touch of salt on top just balances everything out perfectly. They're super simple and easy to make in bulk for a nice treat when you're craving some chocolate.

Tahini Cup Recipe

Serves 2

Ingredients:

- 4 tbsp dark chocolate chips

- 1/2 tbsp coconut oil

- 2 tbsp tahini

- 3 tbsp powdered sugar

- splash of water (if needed)

- sea salt

Steps:

1. Melt the chocolate and coconut oil together in the microwave in intervals of 30 seconds, stirring in between.

2. In a separate bowl, combine tahini and powdered sugar until a slightly wet dough is formed, adding a small splash of water if it is too thick or powdery.

3. Add some of the chocolate to two muffin liners and swirl around to coat the edges, about halfway up the liner (be sure to save some chocolate for the top!)

4. Freeze them for a few minutes until hardened.

5. Add about a tbsp of the tahini mixture (half the mixture) to each cup and flatten it out to form a layer in the cup.

6. Put them back in the freezer for a few minutes until the filling is slightly firm and cold.

7. Top each cup with the rest of the chocolate to cover the whole thing completely and sprinkle some sea salt on top.

8. Put them back in the freezer until everything is hardened and store in the fridge or freezer.

*Tip: If you use mini muffin cups, you can make tiny ones and it will make more!
